Work has been absolutely nuts, so I haven't been home as much as I would have liked lately. And with the holidays coming up...well, you guys know how that goes. But I wanted to take the time today to thank Natalie for the awesome Paw It Forward box!
Delilah knew right away that this box had good things in it:
Matilda remained uninterested. Obviously something interesting was going on elsewhere:
Then the box got opened. Delilah says, "Mom, I think this is for me!"
"I'm not sure if I can get this out myself!"
That's better! And Matilda is just the tiniest bit interested. Maybe.
This is mine!
And this too!
"Hey mom! This isn't fair. Where's my box??"
This is yours, too, Matilda.
Ohhh, a box!
And while Delilah discovered the box, Matilda decided that the toys were hers.
Maybe we can share the box, and hide our mice in it.
So, both Matilda and Delilah say thanks, and send lots of purrs to Scarlett and Melly for the gift. The feather toys are being carried around the house and often into cat beds for cuddles. Delilah has hidden the mice, and Matilda has the rest of the toys in a pile in the living room. I also think the girls have found their new favorite treats in the Feline Greenies. Oh, and the brownies were delicious!
Now, it's my turn to Paw It Forward. I know not a lot of people read here, but if you do and you'd like to participate, please let me know. Feel free to spread the word!
And to wrap it up, Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Delilah
This is Delilah. Don't worry, she knows she isn't supposed to be on the table. But hey, why did I put a towel on the table if not for her?
Nicknames: Lilah, Lala, Lilah-girl, Lala-girl, Silly girl
Likes: Catnip, catnip mice, dropping catnip mice into the water dish, sitting in the window, roast beef, tuna, cat food, and treats, anyone who will give attention
Dislikes: Naughty little sister cats, eye medicine, any other food other than roast beef, tuna, cat food, and treats, getting wet, getting claws trimmed
Places to be: On the back of the loveseat, at the top of the stairs, under the bed, behind the chair in the bedroom, the office
Trademark meow: Short, soft purry meows when contented; soft, closed-mouth whines when slightly disgruntled; loud, angry yowls when more than slightly disgruntled. Known to hiss/growl at naughty little sister cat when extremely necessary.
Personality: Just over three years old, this silver tabby has been smart beyond words since she was a kitten. On her first night home, she figured out how to bust out of the room in which she was held captive, and has been glued to me ever since. She knows how to open cupboards and drawers, any cat treat or catnip containers, and the garbage can. Lilah is the first to let anyone who will listen know that treachery is afoot. She is not shy and will let it all hang out for anyone who is willing to give belly rubs. Oh, and she is the boss. Forget about that other little cat - if she needs to be put back in line, Delilah is just the cat for the job.

Wow
I hadn't realized that I never actually posted on this blog before today. I'll have to remedy that soon. I do have a separate website that I update semi-regularly, so maybe I'll crosspost here.
